Dramatic Manly Space
A garage addition provides a quiet office space, lined with panels and cabinets, as well as space for a new sports car.
Besides needing additional garage space, our customers needed more room for the husband’s at home office, as well as room for recreational activities. The room functions very well as an office space. In addition, it is large enough to accommodate a full-sized pool table.
The room above the garage is quite dramatic with its cathedral ceiling and its dormers. The bright walls are dramatically underscored by the dark stained cabinetry and woodwork throughout the room. As floor covering, a toffee colored carpet with darker medallions was chosen, which picks up both the color of the walls and the woodwork.
This new space is connected on the second floor through a hallway to the main house; the garage below is connected to the attached garage with a breezeway. The breezeway is gated by a picket fence styled gate to prevent unauthorized access to the pool area. The poolroom can be also accessed from the outside from a staircase that starts at patio leading up from the in-ground pool.
Since the new garage is attached at an angle, it makes the entire residence very attractive and visually interesting.
