This was a tired kitchen that hadn’t been updated since the house was built. The client found her children always underfoot as she worked in the kitchen.
To create a warm and welcoming space, a screened porch was converted into an adjoining breakfast room where their children can enjoy themselves while work was underway in the kitchen. It’s a space that would be appropriate in a home twice this size yet it feels “just right” where it is. While value engineering was done to keep the costs in line, this exercise is transparent in the end product: Plain & Fancy latte cabinets provide a “to-die for” finish with a full selection of amenities and accessories. The Santa Cecilia counters play off nicely against the cabinet color. The floors have Warm Tiles to take the edge off cool mornings.
